Operation Ramz became Interpol’s first large-scale cybercrime operation in the region. The campaign ran from October 2025 through February 2026 and involved 13 countries. Roughly 4,000 people fell victim to phishing and fraud schemes targeted by the operation. During the investigations, participating countries exchanged nearly 8,000 pieces of cyberthreat intelligence data.

Kaspersky provided Interpol with technical information about malicious infrastructure, including servers and software used by cybercriminals. That intelligence allowed law enforcement agencies to respond quickly: authorities in Oman seized a server containing confidential data, Algerian investigators shut down a marketplace selling phishing tools, and officials in Jordan identified a computer used to steal money from investors.

“Operation Ramz demonstrates how cooperation between law enforcement agencies and private companies can help dismantle large and sophisticated cybercriminal networks,” said Yulia Shlychkova, vice president of Kaspersky.
