MegaFon Upgrades Network Around Airports and Railway Stations
The upgrades are being carried out amid continued growth in passenger traffic.

MegaFon continues to upgrade its network at airports and railway stations across Russia. The operator is increasing network capacity in response to steadily growing passenger traffic.
Since the beginning of the year, upgrades have been carried out at airports in Blagoveshchensk, Novosibirsk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Vladivostok, Orenburg and St. Petersburg. New base stations have also been installed along access routes to airports in Syktyvkar, Astrakhan, Omsk, Strezhevoy in the Tomsk Region and other locations.
A major upgrade was completed around Yelizovo Airport in the Kamchatka Territory. The operator expanded its LTE network in the low-frequency band, added a new coverage area and laid fiber-optic lines. The average mobile internet speed now stands at around 120 megabits per second.
For railway infrastructure, new equipment was installed around Finland Station in St. Petersburg, as well as at railway stations in Magnitogorsk and Omsk.
