MTS to Deploy 600 Free Wi-Fi Hotspots in Central Moscow
The infrastructure is set to be rolled out over the course of May.

MTS has begun deploying a large-scale network of free public Wi-Fi in central Moscow. Coverage will extend across the area within the Third Ring Road. Over the course of May, the company plans to install 600 access points in high-traffic locations – including major avenues, streets, squares, embankments, parks, and other popular public spaces.
“To roll out a network of this scale, we relied on our own infrastructure: street poles and supports to ensure reliable outdoor coverage, and our fiber backbone to deliver high connection speeds,” said Dmitry Rylov, vice president and head of the Moscow region at MTS.
To access the network, users must complete a one-time authorization process. After that, their devices will automatically reconnect to the free Wi-Fi whenever they enter a coverage area for the following month.
