Novgorod Startup Launches AI Tutor for School Students

In Veliky Novgorod, Study Ninja, a resident company of the Valdai Innovation Science and Technology Center, has launched the StudyNinja AI platform with personal tutoring features after two years of development.

The system assesses a student’s knowledge, identifies gaps and builds an individual learning path toward a chosen goal, whether that is the OGE or EGE national exam or the student’s current school curriculum.

The platform includes a knowledge graph, a micro-lesson system based on the I Do – We Do – You Do teaching method, progress analytics, and separate tools for parents and teachers. The AI does not solve problems for students. Instead, it explains the material, asks guiding questions and walks students through each step.

StudyNinja founder Ioann Novikov said the team spent about two years developing the platform, while its main idea remained unchanged throughout: AI should make truly personalized education accessible to every child, regardless of family income, place of residence or country.

In 2024, the project won the Student Startup competition organized by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises. Today, 84 companies are part of the Valdai Innovation Science and Technology Center ecosystem.
