Incab Develops New Fiber-Optic Cable for Radio Astronomy Observatory
The cable enables high-speed data transmission from antennas to the main data processing center.

Incab has developed a new fiber-optic cable for a radio astronomy observatory. It is designed to transmit data collected by radio telescope antennas. The antennas are spread over a large area and need a way to quickly transfer huge volumes of information.
The cable incorporates a range of advanced engineering solutions. For example, it contains no metal components. The cable does not conduct electricity, requires no grounding, is not affected by external electromagnetic fields, and produces no emissions of its own. It contains 192 optical fibers. This allows a single cable to replace several standard lines, significantly simplifying installation.
“The cable has been shipped to the customer in full, along with the complete set of documentation,” the manufacturer's press service said.
