Remote Firefighting Vehicle Demonstrated in Kazan
The system could significantly improve safety for Emergency Ministry personnel.
A specially equipped Kamaz vehicle designed for remote firefighting was demonstrated in Kazan during the Integrated Security international security trade show. All controls are operated via tablet or joystick from a safe distance from the fire. The new system was developed by specialists from Rostec's High-Precision Systems holding and the All-Russian Research Institute for Fire Protection of the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
The vehicle's automation is enabled by the Prometheus hardware-software suite. The operator can control the machine while monitoring the situation via video cameras. The system is versatile and can be adapted for a wide range of tasks.
"The technical solutions built around Prometheus cover a broad spectrum of applications — from road construction and agriculture to municipal utilities," said Alexander Dernovoy, Deputy Director General for Civilian Product Promotion and Production Control at High-Precision Systems.
