Sber Presents Russia’s First Open AI Model with Reasoning Mode
The model, called GigaChat 3.5 Reasoning, can perform deeper analysis before generating an answer.

Sber has presented its new GigaChat 3.5 Reasoning model. According to the company, it is the first open AI model in Russia to support a reasoning mode. Before generating an answer, the algorithm performs an in-depth analysis of the task. This helps it handle programming tasks more effectively and even correct its own mistakes. The developers say GigaChat 3.5 Reasoning uses an average of 37% fewer tokens to solve mathematical problems than DeepSeek V4 Flash Preview.
The new AI model will be available to GigaChat users. It will also be released openly for developers under the MIT license. The company plans to make the model available to businesses through an API in the near future.
Reasoning support was first introduced in GigaChat in 2025.
