The project was launched by the Obraztsov Theater Museum with support from the Vladimir Potanin Foundation and is named after renowned stage designer Boris Tuzlukov. Its goal is to bring greater visibility to the artists who shape the visual identity of theatrical productions and to establish stage sketches as standalone museum artifacts.

“For the first time, the project will unite the professional community of puppet-theater artists with museum specialists working inside Russia’s puppet theaters. As part of the initiative, a website will be created as the country’s first nationwide online resource featuring sketches by artists from Russian puppet theaters,” Yuliya Baldina said.

Arlekin was selected as the regional coordinator in part because the historic Omsk theater is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, while its puppet museum marks its 20th anniversary. Organizers also plan to expand the digital archive in the future by involving international partners.
