The meeting was attended by VAST Chairman Tran Hong Thai, Rosatom Quantum Technologies Director Ekaterina Solntseva, NUST MISIS First Vice Rector Sergei Salikhov, and Academician Nikolai Kolachevsky, scientific adviser for the quantum computing roadmap.

The roadmap will cover workforce training, the establishment of research laboratories, and the development of quantum computing infrastructure in Vietnam.

“Quantum technologies are a new, breakthrough field that requires enormous investment. Studying the experience of leading countries such as Russia will allow Vietnam to significantly shorten the time needed to build up its talent pool and develop its own capabilities,” Tran Hong Thai said.

The parties also plan to conduct joint research using Russia’s quantum computing infrastructure and exchange scientific expertise. VAST intends to invite Russian specialists to lead individual areas of the projects.
