The Androidnaya Tekhnika (Android Technics) association has launched mass production of high-tech neurorehabilitation systems called Ortez 3.5.6. The device was developed in the city of Magnitogorsk and is designed to help patients recover motor functions. The development was reported by the BFM74.ru portal.

Brain–Computer Interface Feels Every Signal

Ortez 3.5.6 is a robotic neurorehabilitation system equipped with biological feedback. It is designed to restore locomotor functions in the shoulder, knee, and ankle joints. The system can be used for passive and passive-assisted training in patients with motor impairments following stroke, injuries, surgery, and diseases of the central nervous system.

The core principle of the system is based on a brain–computer interface that responds to minimal muscle activity – even barely perceptible movement is enough. The interactive virtual environment does not fatigue patients but instead motivates and engages them. The rehabilitation program combines several techniques, allowing it to be tailored to each individual patient.

Designed to Benefit a Wide Range of Patients

The robotic system has been included in Russia’s national register of medical devices. Production of 30 units is planned for 2026. As a result, around 75,000 patients across Russia are expected to gain access to neurorehabilitation and return to active social and professional life.

Earlier, researchers at Novgorod State University reported the development of a remote control system that uses brain rhythm analysis to operate external objects.
