Russia Explores Ways to Use AI to Improve Drug Quality Oversight
The plans were outlined by Alla Samoilova, head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor).

Russia is exploring ways to use artificial intelligence to improve drug quality oversight and more effectively address potential violations, Alla Samoilova, head of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor), said.
“Moreover, we are going further. Schemes are already being developed for using artificial intelligence to assess all relevant parameters. This would allow us to obtain information in a matter of minutes or hours, making oversight much more intelligent,” Samoilova explained.
She added that drug quality oversight has three basic components: traceability, which covers all medicines on the country's market; the assessment of medicines before they are authorized for circulation; and oversight of products already on the pharmaceutical market.
