A research and manufacturing center known as BAS has begun operations in the Orenburg region. The facility brings together the development and production of components for unmanned aerial systems, with manufacturing already underway.

The BAS center concept was previously approved by Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. The facility has now been officially commissioned, and production of components for unmanned aerial vehicles has been established on site. The center is designed not only as an assembly hub, but also as a space for engineering and scientific work.

The new center is seen as an important element of the region’s technological development. It is expected to become a growth point for local industry, strengthen the talent base, and create conditions for new high-tech jobs. The project is also expected to help attract investment to the Orenburg region.

Drones for Key Industries

Unmanned aerial systems are being used increasingly across a wide range of applications. Their speed, precision, and ability to operate in hard-to-reach areas make them versatile tools for the fuel and energy sector, environmental monitoring, and security systems.

In forestry, drones are used to monitor forest areas during high fire-risk periods. This approach improves response times and reduces the risk of large-scale wildfires.

Developers plan to further expand the use of unmanned systems. Priority areas include agriculture, construction, and regulatory oversight. The launch of the BAS center provides the technological and manufacturing base needed to support this expansion.
