Aqua-Volga, a company based in Volgograd, has introduced its new uncrewed surface vessel, Avatar 001, designed for river monitoring and cargo transport. The craft features a catamaran configuration that provides greater stability on the water. Thanks to its structural design and the materials used in its construction, the company says the vessel is virtually unsinkable.

Avatar 001 is 4 meters long, 2.35 meters wide, and 1.6 meters high. It can be operated in two ways: manually via a remote control with a range of up to 30 kilometers or autonomously by following a preprogrammed route. The vessel has a top speed of 15 kilometers per hour and can operate for up to eight hours on a single battery charge.

The vessel is equipped with an autopilot system and a radio link featuring an emergency return-to-base mode. Its navigation suite includes a wide range of sensors, from GPS/GLONASS receivers to an inertial measurement unit (IMU).

According to the developer, Avatar 001 was designed entirely in Volgograd. All engineering drawings and final assembly were completed by local specialists, while about 90% of the vessel's components are manufactured in Russia.
