New Robotic Crop Sprayer Unveiled at Field Day Exhibition
The self-propelled system can treat more than 50 hectares of crops per hour.
The latest Tuman 4 self-propelled robotic crop sprayer, developed by Samara-based Pegas-Agro, was unveiled at the Field Day agricultural exhibition in Russia's Chelyabinsk Region.
The machine is equipped with the company's latest digital control suite, built around the Pegas Navigation system. The platform integrates an RTK-enabled autopilot with mapping and precision application technologies. The onboard automation continuously adjusts the application rate, reducing chemical consumption by 10–15%, according to the developer.
The sprayer is fitted with a 3,000-liter tank, providing a balance between operating autonomy and minimizing soil compaction. Its boom spans up to 30 meters, enabling the machine to treat more than 50 hectares of farmland per hour.
According to the company, the Tuman 4 is an entirely new design rather than an upgrade of earlier models. It is intended for treating tall crops such as sunflowers, corn, rapeseed, and soybeans.
