Moscow Launches Gamified Financial Literacy Program for Children

The Aktivny Grazhdanin – Detyam (Active Citizen for Children) platform has launched a new educational project, Sekrety Lichnykh Finansov (Secrets of Personal Finance), developed with the participation of the Moscow Department of Finance. The initiative introduces children aged 6 to 14 to the basics of personal budgeting through interactive activities.

Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina said the program combines quizzes, games, videos, and online challenges with game-based learning. The content is organized into themed modules, including proverbs about saving money, examples of financial literacy drawn from fairy tales, the ways goods were acquired before the invention of coins, and— for older children—the fundamentals of the modern banking system. The videos also offer practical advice on managing a personal budget and avoiding fraud.

"There are now more than 800 quizzes, polls, games, and videos on the Aktivny Grazhdanin – Detyam platform covering a wide range of topics," Sergunina said.

According to Sergunina, the new project will help children learn how to plan a personal budget and manage their pocket money responsibly.
