Tyumen Region Is Set to Launch Digital Platform for Farmers

Tyumen Region plans to launch Tsifrovaya Ekosistema Sela (Digital Rural Ecosystem), a state information platform, later this year. The platform will connect private household farms, farmers' associations, agricultural processors, retail chains, and food service businesses into a unified network.

The platform will allow participants to share resources: small farms will be able to rent equipment and hire specialists. The service will help consolidate procurement and product sales, and will also contain useful legal documents. Built-in artificial intelligence will handle data analysis, forecasting, and monitoring of sorting and storage processes.

"In short and figuratively speaking, it is like an electronic taxi aggregator, only for agriculture. Overall, the platform will bring together a considerable number of consumers and producers," said Dmitry Vasilyev, Managing Director of an IT company that is a partner of the "People's Farmer. Western Siberia" association.

According to Anatoly Shmurin, Chairman of the association, the new platform fits well into the regional strategy for the digital transformation of the agro-industrial sector, which is aimed at improving the efficiency of agriculture through modern technologies.
