Biotechnology Laboratory Complex Opens in Russia's Oryol Region
The new laboratory complex will focus on plant breeding using biotechnology and artificial intelligence to help strengthen the technological independence of Russia's agricultural sector.

A new laboratory complex dedicated to biotechnology and artificial intelligence has opened in Russia's Oryol Region. Its primary mission is to support the technological independence of the country's agricultural industry. The facility has been established at the breeding and seed production center operated by Shchelkovo Agrokhim.
Researchers will use the complex to accelerate the development of new seed varieties. Specialized climate chambers allow scientists to precisely control light exposure, humidity, and other environmental conditions, significantly speeding up the breeding process. The chambers are part of a broader set of advanced research equipment available at the facility.
