Robot Couriers Transport More Than Two Tons of Medical Supplies in Moscow Hospitals
It helped to save about 3,000 hours of staff time

Robot delivery vehicles operating at two Moscow hospitals have transported more than two tons of medical supplies and saved healthcare workers an estimated 3,000 hours of staff time, Deputy Mayor for Social Development Anastasia Rakova said.
Since March, the autonomous robots have been operating at Pirogov City Clinical Hospital No. 1 and City Clinical Hospital No. 15. Each hospital has three robots assigned to recurring delivery routes between the pharmacy, laboratory, and treatment rooms, reducing the amount of routine transport work handled by medical staff. Over the past several months, the robots have traveled about 2,000 kilometers (1,240 miles) and transported more than two tons of medical supplies.
The pilot project is helping officials determine which delivery routes can be automated, how the robots perform under real operating conditions, and in which situations they provide the greatest benefit to healthcare personnel.
