AI System in Russia Targets Vandalism and Illegal Advertising
The platform analyzes video feeds to detect violations and alert authorities in real time.

NtechLab, a technology partner of Rostec, has developed an AI-based video analytics system capable of detecting unauthorized graffiti. The neural network can also help tackle illegal advertising, including the posting of flyers in public spaces.
The system is currently being tested in several Russian regions, Rostec’s press service told IT-Russia.
Ignores Legal Advertising
The platform analyzes video streams from cameras on public transport as well as fixed urban surveillance systems, identifies violations, and reports them to relevant services. It can be configured to ignore authorized street art and murals.
Monitors Waste Collection and Illegal Parking
The AI system is currently undergoing testing in multiple regions and is expected to be deployed in additional cities later this year.
NtechLab’s urban technologies are already in use in several regions. For example, video analytics is applied at municipal waste collection sites in the Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda, and Leningrad regions. The system helps municipal services maintain cleaning schedules and alerts authorities to improperly parked vehicles that obstruct garbage trucks.
Earlier reports said domestic AI systems had been deployed to monitor streets and parks in the Penza region.
