At Cheremukhovskaya-Glubokaya Mine, Hoisting Machine Automated
The equipment can now determine what type of load it is carrying.
At the Cheremukhovskaya-Glubokaya Mine, operated by Sevuralboksitruda, the control system for a hoisting machine has been upgraded. The automation can now determine whether the machine is carrying people or ore. It then selects the appropriate operating mode: smooth and safe for transporting people, or optimized for maximum efficiency.
The braking and acceleration algorithms have been tuned so precisely that energy losses during these operations have been reduced to a minimum.
This level of automation was made possible by investments from RUSAL. The company is systematically investing in the modernization of SUBR’s industrial sites. The strategy is aimed at creating modern mines where resource conservation is a key priority.
