Attendees of the TsIPR conference in Nizhny Novgorod will be able to use biometric identification when boarding Lastochka trains. The service will be available on three routes. Passengers will not need to carry either a ticket or a passport – instead, they will simply look into a portable camera device operated by train staff. The pilot project is being implemented by the Center for Biometric Technologies in partnership with Russian Railways.

To use the service, passengers must first register their data in the Unified Biometric System. Registration can be completed at participating banks or through mobile enrollment services.

One of the main testing routes will connect Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. The biometric boarding system will also be available on the Moscow – Kostroma – Moscow and Moscow – Ivanovo – Moscow routes.

The TsIPR conference is scheduled to take place in Nizhny Novgorod from May 18 to May 21, 2026.
