Formula for the Ideal Service From Gazpromneft-SM
Gazpromneft-SM's unique digital solution will allow industrial companies to outsource the supply of advanced lubricants for their vehicle fleets to a specialized external operator.

Gazpromneft-SM, the lubricants business operator of Gazprom Neft, has introduced a digital service that provides comprehensive lubricant and technical fluid management for industrial enterprises. At the core of the offering is an automated lubricant dispensing system installed directly at a customer's production site. Industry estimates suggest that lubricant losses during manual handling and storage can reach 15%. Operator-free dispensing eliminates the need for intermediate containers, removes spills and dosing errors entirely, and helps companies avoid maintaining their own fuel and lubricant warehouses along with the associated capital expenditures.
Smart Accounting and Rapid Diagnostics
The solution combines digital transaction tracking with laboratory monitoring of lubricant condition. Customers manage operations and access data through a dedicated online portal. Specialized software records every transaction and automatically transfers information into accounting systems, including 1C. Companies pay only for the volume actually dispensed, with ownership of the lubricant transferring to the customer at the moment of refueling. That model delivers measurable efficiency gains: savings from reduced material losses can reach 10%, while the process itself remains exceptionally fast. A complete refill of a 130-ton mining haul truck takes no more than 10 minutes.
In addition, customers gain access to rapid monitoring of critical components and assemblies in heavy equipment through the G-Profi Expert Center mobile laboratory. The analysis helps identify potential failures early, enabling operators to take corrective action in time and reduce repair costs.
The project has already proven its value in the automotive sector, where it has supported conveyor-line filling of truck reservoirs since 2015. In 2024, the company developed a dedicated version for industrial enterprises. Trial deployments showed a 13% reduction in lubricant consumption, improved product cleanliness, and the release of working capital that had previously been tied up in warehouse operations.

Transparency Down to the Last Drop
The technology has already attracted interest from mining, metallurgy, and heavy machinery manufacturers. The scale of the operational challenges it addresses, combined with its economic benefits, creates export potential for Gazpromneft-SM's development. Companies across the CIS, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America face similar pressure to reduce costs and digitize operational accounting. For now, however, the company's priority is expanding the service across additional sectors of Russian industry.
Gazpromneft-SM's technology, which supports the safe and efficient handling of lubricants, aligns with new requirements for transparency in fuel and lubricant circulation. Since September 1, 2025, Russia has required mandatory marking of oils and specialized fluids through Chestny znak (Honest Sign system), and since April 1, 2026, the retail sector has joined the program with item-level tracking. Deploying the digital service makes it possible to follow a product's path from the production line to the end user, providing businesses with strong protection against counterfeit products.

AI Extends the Service Life of High-Value Equipment
Gazpromneft-SM currently has several dozen digital products and technologies under development. One example is Alkhimik (Alchemist), Russia's first AI-powered digital system for creating multicomponent motor oil formulations, launched in 2023. The platform can rapidly generate optimal formulations for highly specialized products, including turbine oils for the latest generation of nuclear-powered icebreakers, engine oils for some of the world's fastest racing buggies, and hydraulic fluids for the world's largest mining haul trucks.
Expanding comprehensive technical services is a strategic priority for Gazpromneft-SM. Through regular fleet condition analysis and a modern approach to lubricant management, industrial operators can reduce the number of maintenance events required over a vehicle's lifecycle and avoid unexpected repairs. That can significantly lower operating costs by reducing equipment downtime. To support this goal, Gazpromneft-SM developed G-Lab, the only digital service of its kind on the Russian market, which uses artificial intelligence for predictive diagnostics. A lubricant sample is collected through a mobile laboratory and analyzed against 24 parameters. Within just 30 minutes, specialists can provide an assessment of both the lubricant's condition and the health of the equipment itself. In practice, that sharply reduces the risk of equipment shutdowns and unplanned repairs. The service has already demonstrated its effectiveness at some of Russia's largest industrial companies.

Gazpromneft-SM Changes the Rules of the Fuel and Lubricants Market
Working with some of the country's leading industrial enterprises, Gazpromneft-SM is introducing operational improvements and digital services across product ordering, payment, customer support, after-sales service, and technical assistance. As a result, the company is building a digital ecosystem that spans AI-assisted formulation development, rapid diagnostics, and production-site automation, as well as logistics route planning and the distribution of finished products worldwide.
