Indeed Co. Releases Certificate Management Platform Update for Enterprise Infrastructure
Russian cybersecurity company Indeed has released version 7.3 of Indeed Certificate Manager, adding new capabilities designed to simplify certificate management and support organizations migrating enterprise infrastructure away from Microsoft technologies.
The new release introduces support for OpenLDAP and Alt Domen (Alt Domain) directory services, the Dogtag CA certificate authority, and Kerberos single sign-on (SSO) in Linux environments. Other additions include three-factor authentication combining a hardware token, PIN, and fingerprint verification. Support for cryptographic key storage devices has also been expanded, alongside compatibility with current Russian and international operating systems. The release also adds support for the Rutoken ECP 3.0 3250 BIO hardware token, which can securely store biometric data.
Expanding an Import-Independent PKI Ecosystem
The update targets government agencies and large enterprises migrating infrastructure from Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Certificate Authority (CA) to Russian operating systems, directory services, and security technologies. The platform enables organizations to adopt alternative infrastructure while maintaining centralized certificate lifecycle management.
For Russia's IT sector, the release represents another step in building an import-independent public key infrastructure (PKI) ecosystem. It allows organizations to migrate to Linux and domestic directory services while retaining centralized control over certificate issuance, renewal, and revocation. Although the update has no direct impact on individual consumers, it can strengthen the security of digital services, reduce the risk of credential compromise, and simplify secure access to enterprise systems.
A Gradual Migration Strategy
The platform's primary market remains Russia. It is designed to support migrations from Microsoft Active Directory and Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) to Linux-based infrastructure, help establish import-independent PKI environments across government, industry, and financial organizations, and automate certificate lifecycle management while enabling multi-factor authentication in hybrid IT environments.
Support for multiple directory services makes phased migrations possible without locking organizations into a single vendor. Integration with Dogtag CA also reduces dependence on proprietary certificate authorities while preserving centralized administration. Indeed Certificate Manager 7.3 could also appeal to countries seeking Linux-based cybersecurity solutions and independent PKI platforms, although international adoption will depend on local cryptographic and certification requirements.
Russia's enterprise certificate authority market continues to expand. Alongside Indeed CM, organizations can choose from platforms including Aladdin Enterprise CA, Avanpost CA, Clearway CA, and SafeTech CA. At the same time, Microsoft AD CS remains widely deployed, leaving significant room for continued infrastructure migration.
Building a Domestic PKI Market
In 2022, Aladdin Enterprise CA was added to Russia's national software registry as a domestic alternative to Microsoft CA with support for Russian directory services. In 2024, Indeed Certificate Manager 7.0 introduced the ability to deploy its server components on Linux, marking an important step toward operating within import-independent infrastructure.
A year later, Indeed CM 7.1 expanded integration with domestic and open-source directory services through support for ALD Pro and FreeIPA, simplifying migrations from Active Directory and Linux-based user management. During the same period, competing alternatives to Microsoft CA, including Aladdin Enterprise CA and SafeTech CA, also continued to evolve.
By 2026, Microsoft AD CS still accounted for a substantial share of the enterprise certificate authority market. At the same time, a growing segment of Russian platforms has emerged to provide certificate issuance and lifecycle management within import-independent infrastructure.
Rising Demand and Growing Competition
Indeed CM 7.3 strengthens Russia's enterprise certificate management market while making it easier for organizations to migrate corporate infrastructure to Linux and Russian directory services. Rather than introducing fundamentally new technologies, the release focuses on broader compatibility and reducing practical barriers to migrating away from Microsoft platforms.
According to industry forecasts, demand for platforms of this kind is expected to grow over the next several years as government agencies and large enterprises continue migrating to Russian operating systems, user directories, and authentication technologies. Competition will increasingly depend on how seamlessly products support migration, their compatibility with Russian cryptographic standards, the degree of certificate lifecycle automation they provide, and their ability to integrate across diverse enterprise infrastructure platforms.
