Itelma Potok Service Aims to Improve Precision Positioning for Agricultural Machinery
A new Russian-developed service promises centimeter-level positioning accuracy for farm equipment, matching the performance of leading global solutions.
Itelma SP has introduced a new solution designed to significantly improve the positioning accuracy of agricultural machinery operating in the field. The service, Itelma Potok (Itelma Flow service), can determine machine location with an accuracy of 2 to 4 centimeters - smaller than a matchbox.
The system is based on Precise Point Positioning (PPP) technology, which enables continuous monitoring. PPP corrections are generated using proprietary mathematical models developed by Itelma, accounting for the effects of the ionosphere and troposphere on radio signal propagation, as well as inaccuracies in GNSS satellite orbit parameters and time scales.
According to its specifications, the service matches the performance of leading global solutions. The developers describe Itelma Potok as the first Russian system in its class that delivers reliable results under real-world conditions.
