Taganka District Tour Goes Mobile With AR-Powered Route
The Uznaĭ Moskvu (Discover Moscow) portal has launched an interactive route through the Tagansky District, allowing users to explore 11 historical sites using augmented reality and earn city reward points.
The route runs from the Taganskaya metro station to the 14th-century Spaso-Andronikov Monastery. At each stop, a smartphone becomes a guide: AR mode overlays historical information directly onto real-world views, while interactive quizzes test participants’ attention.
Points are awarded for AR-based exploration, completing quests and quizzes, leaving reviews, and registering on the platform. They can be redeemed for discounts in shops and cafes, tickets to events, or used to top up a Troika (transport card). The portal now features more than 300 routes and descriptions of nearly 2,400 buildings across Moscow.
