The fuel division of Rosatom has introduced a mobile charging unit for electric vehicles, showcasing the system at the Renwex-2026 exhibition.

For the Russian market, the device is the first of its kind. It operates as an autonomous unit that can move on wheels within a designated area, such as a business center parking lot or a residential complex.

Users can summon the unit through a mobile app. After completing a charge, the system automatically returns to its pantograph docking point to replenish its own energy reserves.

The system runs on domestically produced battery components, including repurposed batteries from electric buses. While these batteries are no longer suitable for long-distance operation, they can still function effectively as stationary power banks.

According to Alexander Bukhvalov, director of the electromobility business at TVEL, the station helps fill gaps in charging infrastructure, particularly in areas with limited grid capacity or constrained parking space.
