MegaFon to Expand Connectivity Across Remote Areas of the Arkhangelsk Region
The initiative is part of an agreement between the telecom operator and the regional government.

MegaFon and the government of the Arkhangelsk Region have agreed to accelerate the development of telecommunications infrastructure across the region. The agreement runs through the end of 2027 and is aimed at providing reliable connectivity to remote communities. To achieve that goal, the operator plans to deploy a network of compact base stations.
Road infrastructure is also included in the project. Along the M8 highway, the region's main transportation corridor, MegaFon plans to expand LTE coverage through the launch of more than a dozen new telecommunications sites.
The agreement also provides for joint efforts to strengthen information security.
