Sber Says AI Could Cut Procurement Processing Times 12-Fold
Sberbank is introducing AI technologies into its procurement operations and expects to reduce the time required for some processes by more than tenfold, Deputy Chairman Taras Skvortsov said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

According to Skvortsov, a dedicated AI agent is already helping employees automatically prepare documents, verify budgets, and identify funding sources.
In the future, multi-agent systems will support a seamless process from identifying a procurement need to completing payment. Some of the technologies are still operating in pilot mode, but Sber plans to expand their use over the next year. For routine, high-volume procurement, the bank plans to introduce autonomous digital committees capable of independently deciding whether to proceed with procurement procedures.
