Rostec Smart Traffic Lights Undergo Testing in Nizhny Tagil
A total of 20 smart traffic lights have been delivered to the city.
Nizhny Tagil is testing smart traffic lights developed by Shvabe, a holding company within Rostec. The devices, designated DS7-Lite, have been integrated into the city's intelligent transportation system. They continuously interact with traffic controllers that receive data from road-embedded sensors detecting vehicle presence, traffic-analysis cameras, radar systems, pedestrian crossing call buttons, and the city's traffic management center.
A total of 20 traffic lights have been delivered to Nizhny Tagil. Twelve are already installed and operational, while the remaining units are being connected to the network.
According to the developers, the traffic lights are designed for high reliability. Their housings are resistant to moisture and prolonged sunlight exposure. Internal systems are also protected against electromagnetic interference generated by electric transport systems.
