Penza Foundry Set to Launch Robotic System
The equipment will provide high-precision burnishing of components.
A foundry in Penza is upgrading its equipment, allowing it to improve product quality and expand its product range. The company is now carrying out a major project jointly with Russia’s Industrial Development Fund to launch a robotic system for cleaning castings. It will be the first equipment of its kind installed in the region.
The new system is expected to significantly reduce heavy manual labor. It will provide high-precision grinding of components, a process that affects the functionality of the entire casting. Labor productivity is expected to increase roughly fivefold. The system will also lay the groundwork for further modernization.
“This year marks the company’s 25th anniversary. It has developed very rapidly. It started as a small workshop with just eight employees, and today it is a large manufacturing operation with a workforce of 800. The company handles the entire production cycle, from developing engineering documentation to final machining. The plant has undergone extensive modernization,” said Penza Region Governor Oleg Melnichenko.
