Russia's First Automated Gantry Crane Enters Service at Russian Railways Facility
The system was developed by Virsayn Innovations with support from Skolkovo.

Virsayn Innovations, with support from Skolkovo, has deployed Russia's first automated container gantry crane at Russian Railways' Kuntsevo Terminal and Logistics Center.
The system has progressed from remote operation to full automation. The crane is equipped with LiDAR sensors, machine vision cameras, and the software required to operate them. It can independently calculate optimal container handling routes and issue commands to the crane's mechanisms. At the same time, an operator can oversee all operations to ensure safe operation.
“The solution is built on Russian-developed software, machine vision systems, LiDAR-based positioning, and our own control algorithms,” said Alexey Ovyan, CEO of Virsayn Innovations. “Its successful operation at an active Russian Railways facility demonstrates that the technology is ready for further development and wider deployment across transport, logistics, and industrial sites.”
