Russia to Host Major Global Robotics Championship in 2025

Over 300 teams from more than 20 countries will compete in the third annual 'Robot Battle' tournament.

Russia is set to host the third edition of its largest robotics competition, 'Robot Battle,' in 2025. More than 300 teams have already applied, including participants from cities across Russia, as well as from China, India, Ecuador, Belarus, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia—representing over 20 countries in total.

Tournament stages are being held in various regions across the country to attract a wide pool of contestants. Thousands of spectators attend each city’s event. The competition features two categories: 'Robot Battle' and 'Mini-Robot Battle.' The event's motto—'A championship where technology and its creators from different countries meet'—reflects its international and collaborative spirit.

The championship is a platform for young engineers to shine, offering them the chance to win grants, connect with mentors from major tech companies, and showcase their engineering skills.

Organized by the Russian Ministry of Digital Development, the competition will run from August to December 2025. As Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said at the event’s opening, 'Robot Battle is a contest of bold ideas and talent, where young people are building the world of tomorrow.
