Russia to Teach AI Skills to Schoolchildren at Global Tech Forum

Over 1,000 students will learn how to code drones, create digital media, and work with AI at the upcoming Junior-IT event in Khanty-Mansiysk.
At the International IT Forum with BRICS and SCO countries, to be held in Khanty-Mansiysk from June 25 to 27, Russian students will be introduced to artificial intelligence through hands-on training. The event will include a dedicated platform called 'Junior-IT,' where over 1,000 schoolchildren and students will explore the technologies of tomorrow.
Participants will learn how to work with AI, program drones, produce digital animation and music, and protect personal data online. Organizers have planned 39 interactive sessions across 15 venues, including workshops, lectures by top IT experts, practical sessions, and digital project pitch events where students can present their ideas to professional mentors.
Leading IT companies will also demonstrate virtual production environments and introduce students to the principles of lean manufacturing.
The forum is expected to be a key venue for discussing import independence, cybersecurity, and the development of Russia’s IT workforce. By equipping young people with essential digital skills, the project supports the country’s technological sovereignty and cultivates the next generation of tech professionals.
