Russian Scientists Develop Neural Network to Analyze Labor Market Trends

The AI-driven system maps in-demand skills and builds personalized career paths based on real-time job data.

Researchers from the International Laboratory for Applied Network Analysis at the Higher School of Economics (HSE University) have unveiled a neural network algorithm for HR analytics, created in collaboration with the RosNavyk platform. The project was presented at the Open Data Forum in Moscow.

The system automatically collects and analyzes job postings, using network modeling to visualize how professions, skills, and employers are interconnected across different regions of Russia. This graphical approach makes it possible to see which skills are most in demand and how they cluster across industries.

Turning Data Into Career Guidance

“This allows us to identify employers’ current skill requirements, analyze regional specifics of the labor market, and detect related professional domains,” said Daria Maltseva, head of the HSE laboratory.

The technology can be applied to HR analytics, career counseling, and educational program design, helping universities and companies align training with real market needs. In the near future, the algorithm will be integrated into the RosNavyk platform, enabling millions of Russians to find jobs and plan their careers based on data-driven insights rather than guesswork.
