Smart Home in Your Pocket: Gosuslugi Dom Now Alerts Residents to Planned Hot Water Outages
The functionality of the "Gosuslugi Dom" (State Services Home) platform continues to expand. The latest update introduces automatic notifications about scheduled hot water outages, giving residents timely information directly through the mobile application.

Residents no longer need to search for hot water outage schedules on bulletin boards in their apartment buildings. The Gosuslugi Dom mobile app now displays that information directly on its home screen.
Once a property management company or utility provider publishes information in the GIS ZhKH (State Housing and Utilities Information System) about hydraulic testing, scheduled repairs at a combined heat and power plant, or maintenance of district heating pipelines, the information automatically appears in the application.
Importantly, the new feature is available nationwide because the application operates across all Russian regions and relies on data from GIS ZhKH. For residents, the practical value is straightforward: they no longer need to figure out why service has been interrupted or when hot water will be restored.

Where the Digital Utilities Platform Is Heading
The Gosuslugi Dom platform has considerable room for expansion. In the future, the application could notify residents not only about planned hot water outages but also about scheduled or emergency interruptions affecting electricity, heating, cold water, and natural gas services, as well as repairs to residential access roads. The platform could also expand its feedback capabilities, allowing residents to evaluate utility providers and submit service requests directly through the app.
The platform's steadily expanding capabilities are also driving adoption. By early 2026, Gosuslugi Dom had been downloaded more than 15 million times. Residents had used it to submit more than 5.4 million requests to property management organizations. Those figures indicate that the application has become a practical tool influencing interactions across the residential utilities sector.

From Pilot Projects to Millions of Users
The application's evolution illustrates how rapidly housing and utility services are being digitized in Russia. Pilot deployments began in several regions during 2022 and 2023.
By March 2023, Gosuslugi Dom had been downloaded 35,000 times, rising to 300,000 by August. In November of that year, the service became available nationwide. By the end of 2023, the application already offered a core set of services, allowing residents to submit utility meter readings, pay utility bills, send requests to property management companies, and participate in homeowners' association meetings.
In 2024, Gosuslugi Dom added smart home capabilities, enabling residents to control barriers and entrance gates serving apartment complexes. The platform expanded further in 2025, when developers introduced guest access for tenants and family members while also adding support for owners of detached homes. By 2026, Mintsifry (Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media) had transformed Gosuslugi Dom into a unified application for residential property management.

A Single Digital Gateway for Residential Utilities
Although notifications about planned hot water outages represent a relatively modest update, the feature clearly demonstrates how interactions between utility providers and millions of residents are becoming increasingly automated.
Automatic notifications do more than improve convenience for residents. They also reduce the workload of utility dispatch centers, allowing personnel to respond more quickly to genuine emergencies. At the same time, Gosuslugi Dom continues to evolve, providing practical assistance to residents across Russia every day.
