Fame Fakin Bunyui: Balancing AI With a Human Approach Is Essential for Digital Development
More than 1,000 foreign guests – including IT developers, scientists and entrepreneurs – have arrived in Moscow for the 2nd Global Digital Forum to showcase their achievements, exchange experience and find new business partners.

Fame Fakin Bunyui, a journalist and founder and CEO of Techfusion Magazine from Cameroon, spoke to an IT Russia correspondent about her vision of the digital future:
– I think that in 10 years, the global digital environment will be fully automated, because we can already see the trends driven by the development of artificial intelligence. More and more young programmers are working in this field. Demand for AI tools is growing, and their applications are expanding. But as a journalist, I also see that there are some challenges.
That is why it is so important to hold events like this forum and take part in debates that allow us to approach the issue in a more balanced way. The world cannot be fully automated. A human approach will always be necessary. Not everything around us can be artificial. That is why I am very grateful to the forum organizers for holding this wonderful event and giving me the opportunity to be here.
Now that AI systems are being used more widely in different fields, including healthcare, education and the military, it is important to find a balance. On the one hand, technology should serve humanity. On the other, we cannot allow people to become dependent on artificial intelligence and other technologies. That is why we need to teach people to use AI as a tool that can help us move forward.
But we cannot allow humanity to become dehumanized. There is a great deal of disinformation and fake content circulating in the public sphere today. We need to use artificial intelligence as a tool that will help us move forward and strike a balance between technological development and human values. And I believe that such a tool will help us achieve our goals.
I have high expectations for this forum. Several interesting sessions have already taken place and have really opened my eyes. In particular, it was fascinating to learn how traditional media outlets use artificial intelligence. A representative of Kommersant, a major player in Russia’s media landscape, spoke about how the newsroom uses AI to improve productivity.
More and more people are using social media, so it is very important for traditional media outlets to maintain their position.
