Nicholas Nuwagira: It Is Important to Protect Children From the Misuse of Artificial Intelligence
The 2nd Global Digital Forum is taking place in Moscow from October 8 to 10, bringing together delegates from more than 100 countries, including developers, scientists and entrepreneurs.

The forum features discussions, plenary sessions and one-on-one meetings, with participants exchanging experience in building sovereign digital infrastructure and reaching agreements on new projects. Nicholas Nuwagira of Uganda shared his first impressions of the forum with IT Russia:
– We signed the memorandum because we want to do everything we can to make sure children and students continue learning. We know that when artificial intelligence becomes readily available to students, they can stop thinking for themselves. It is important to prevent that from happening.
The most important thing we want to do is protect children from the misuse of artificial intelligence. Children and teenagers under 18, if given unrestricted access to AI, may start relying on it exclusively. But they need to read real books, ask questions themselves and get accurate answers. That is why protecting children is our main priority.
We will see the practical results of this partnership very soon. In fact, we will start right away. As soon as we return to our country, we will begin the process. We will visit schools and talk to children and students about how to learn effectively in this new environment.
