Hatif Abdulameer Habeeb Mahdi: Russian Digital Solutions Could Benefit Iraq
The assistant to governor of Iraq’s Najaf Province praised Russian technologies in medicine, urban infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
For the second time, Global South countries are gathering in Russia for the Global Digital Forum. Today, experts from around the world are discussing how to make the digital environment useful to humanity as a whole and protect advanced technologies from attempts to appropriate them.
Hatif Abdulameer Habeeb Mahdi, Assistant to the Governor of Najaf Province for Digital Communications, spoke to IT Russia about the Russian solutions that caught his attention and could be applied in Iraq:
– We liked the technologies we have seen since arriving, including AI-based solutions. At the exhibition, we were particularly interested in medical systems and integrated construction solutions that put essential services close to where people live. The infrastructure connecting these elements also plays an important role. We hope we can develop similar solutions in Iraq.
In medicine, I was particularly interested in the ability to schedule doctor appointments and analyze symptoms to assess the likelihood of a disease. We also learned about systems related to medications and treatment protocols.
The infrastructure that connects different areas and helps coordinate joint efforts was equally impressive. We hope we can put similar experience into practice.
Overall, the forum and exhibition made a strong impression on me. Russia is developing technologies across a range of fields and paying attention to people of all ages, from children to older adults. It is particularly important that artificial intelligence is being integrated into virtually every area.
