A poultry farm in Chebarkul, in Russia’s Chelyabinsk region, has upgraded its production line with equipment that autonomously sorts and packages eggs.

“The introduction of a new automated egg collection system has significantly reduced labor costs. Previously, eggs were collected manually by a large number of workers. Today, the process is automated and simplified. This helps maintain quality while reducing processing time,” said chief livestock specialist Alla Chekaleva.

“Anaconda” in Action

The automated egg sorting line is called Anaconda due to its flexibility and length. The new technology minimizes the risk of product damage and loss.

Workers at the facility no longer handle the eggs directly. Feed dust is removed using brushes and a vacuum system, after which the eggs pass through ultraviolet light to complete the disinfection cycle. A detection system known as “smart eyes” identifies dirt and cracks.

Earlier, the Sovetskaya Agrofirma poultry farm in the Kirov region introduced digital monitoring and safety systems. Smart cameras track every egg on the conveyor, while AI-powered predictive analytics identifies risks and helps prevent biosecurity violations. A fully automated monitoring system oversees the entire facility using intelligent video surveillance and smart sensors.
