Rostelecom has brought high-speed internet to the Paaso ancient settlement, an archaeological site in Karelia’s Sortavala District. The company laid 2.5 kilometers of fiber-optic cable, planning the work so that it would not disturb the area’s unique natural landscape.

Today, Paaso is a federal cultural heritage site and has been developed to accommodate tourists. A reliable internet connection will help improve the site’s operations, keeping its online ticketing and video surveillance systems running without interruption while making business processes more efficient and supporting internal data analysis.

“Reliable internet is essential first and foremost for our staff: they process online requests, communicate with tour groups and manage social media. We care about the comfort and safety of our visitors, and modern technology helps us with both. Network access keeps our surveillance cameras operating continuously,” said Yevgeny Orlov, manager of Gorodishche Paaso LLC.
