ITMO Develops Service for Comprehensive Urban Infrastructure Planning
The system makes it possible to quickly identify the optimal parameters for future development.
Specialists at the ITMO Institute of Design and Urban Studies have developed a new web service that analyzes the availability of social infrastructure across cities.
"Our service evaluates the availability of social infrastructure across an entire city rather than individual areas, and also forecasts how new residential districts and facilities will affect the city," said Sergei Mityagin, director of the ITMO Institute of Design and Urban Studies.
One of the service's main advantages is its speed. The system performs city-scale calculations in no more than 30 seconds. It can be used for any city. To generate forecast models, users only need to upload a city's master plan and its social infrastructure development plan. The algorithms then propose optimal options for new residential developments.
