AI Helps Emergency Responders in Russia's Krasnodar Region Predict Disasters
Emergency responders in Russia's Krasnodar Region are using artificial intelligence to forecast and model the development of emergency situations.

The technology helps specialists assess in advance how severe weather events could affect specific areas and what consequences they may produce.
"When we receive an adverse weather forecast that could lead to an emergency, the AI develops simulation models showing how the event could unfold. This allows us to see how heavy rainfall or other natural hazards may affect a particular area and what consequences they are likely to cause," the Krasnodar Region branch of EMERCOM of Russia said.
The AI-generated forecasts enable authorities to notify municipal administrations and residents about potential threats in a timely manner and to redeploy emergency personnel and equipment before an incident occurs. This helps reduce risks and improves preparedness well before emergencies unfold.
