ALROSA Advances “Human + AI” Model in Operations
The diamond mining company plans to expand the range of applied tasks handled by artificial intelligence.
ALROSA Group said it is preparing to broaden the use of artificial intelligence across its operations, with company representatives outlining the plans at the AKPO-Conf conference.
“For us, AI is not an experiment for its own sake – we use it where results can be controlled and explained. It helps speed up processes, improve decision quality, and reduce routine workloads,” said Denis Kriventsev, deputy CEO for core IT services and infrastructure at ALROSA IT.
The company already deploys large language models, RAG-based approaches, and AI agents to handle routine applied tasks. More complex challenges remain under the responsibility of human staff, as the company follows a “human + AI” model.
One of ALROSA’s priorities is improving its work with large datasets. This relies on infrastructure within a secure environment, including solutions built on Yandex AI Studio.
