Digital Sketchbook Exhibition Opens in Moscow Region
A young artist showcases works created entirely with digital tools.

An exhibition titled Tsifrovoy sketchbuk (Digital Sketchbook) has opened in Ramenskoye in the Moscow region. Young artist Anastasia Nikulina, a graduate of Gzhelskiy gosudarstvennyy universitet (Gzhel State University), presented artworks created using computer software and graphic design tools.
The walls of the Ramenskoye Tourist Information Center feature bright anime-style illustrations, graphic compositions, and even puzzle-like displays showing different stages of how a digital artwork is created. The exhibition demonstrates how a virtual image gradually takes shape using a stylus and a computer mouse.
Preserving Traditions
All the works are original and were created without the use of artificial intelligence. Nikulina grew up in a family of artists, has been drawing since childhood, and now teaches art herself. Digital technologies are also helping support the development of traditional folk crafts in Russia.
For example, at the Orenburg down shawl factory, designers use specialized computer software to create lace-like 'spiderweb' patterns and full artistic compositions based on a unique archive of traditional folk ornaments.
