In Russia, a Digital Assistant Aims to Offer Emotional Support for Young People
A Russian mobile operator has launched a youth-focused plan that includes access to an AI-powered mental-support assistant.

A Plan With a “Shoulder to Cry On”
The RIIL plan from MTS for young users in Yugra now includes an AI-powered mental-support assistant. Users can talk with it about anxiety, work through difficult situations, and get practical advice on improving their emotional well-being.
The AI assistant is available to RIIL subscribers free of charge and without limits on the number of interactions. Users can discuss personal concerns, ask psychology-related questions, or request guidance on how to cope with stress and self-doubt.
If a request touches on a deeply personal issue, the assistant structures the conversation step by step. It asks follow-up questions, helps the user articulate the core of the problem, and checks whether it has understood the situation correctly. It then suggests specific, actionable steps. For example, when users express uncertainty at the start of their careers, the AI may offer advice on where to begin exploring new opportunities and how to overcome fear of change.
Sensitive Topics
The assistant’s operating scenarios include restrictions for topics that require professional intervention. In such cases, the bot recommends contacting a qualified specialist. Users can also delete their chat history at any time. After pressing the “Clear chat” button, the assistant restarts the conversation with a clean slate.
AI for Young People
The mental-support assistant expands the lineup of digital helpers already included in the RIIL plan, which previously featured an AI fitness coach and an AI stylist. According to the company, interest in these services among young users remains high.
