Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant to Offer Student Training With VR and Simulators
Up to 300 young people will visit the plant by the end of the year.
By the end of 2026, Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant will provide practical training for 300 students from 37 technical universities across Russia. The future specialists will gain new knowledge in areas including nuclear energy, information security, automation and construction.
The training will include working with technical documentation, learning about the plant's departments and visiting a full-scale simulator of the unit control room. One of the most interesting parts of the training will be VR tours, which allow students to experience the plant's most complex areas without risk.
Such training programs are part of Rosatom's broader strategy to attract young professionals to its enterprises. They hire up to 1,000 graduates annually. By 2035, this figure is expected to double.
Russia plans to build 38 power units by 2042. Projects of this scale require young, qualified professionals.
