MAX Messenger to Roll Out Anti-Scam Training Bot
The new tool is designed to help users build real-world “immunity” to phone fraud.

Students at Transbaikal State University are developing a dedicated chatbot inside Russia’s national messenger MAX to help users learn how to counter phone scams. The bot simulates realistic conversations with fraudsters, allowing people to practice safe communication skills and recognize deception tactics before encountering them in real life.
The project, titled Stop the Call. Safe Response Skills, is an interactive training simulator embedded directly into the Russian messaging platform. The bot recreates a range of scam scenarios, giving users a secure environment in which to learn how to spot manipulation techniques and respond correctly.
According to the developers, the goal is not just to warn users, but to build practical, experience-based “immunity” to fraud. Integration into MAX makes the tool easily accessible to millions of users across the country.
A Preventive, Education-First Approach
The initiative has already received strong recognition at the national level. In December, the team presented the project at a conference on best practices held in Krasnoyarsk, where it attracted significant interest from professionals and experts.
For Russia, the service represents an important step toward developing homegrown digital security solutions. The developers describe it as a practical response to modern threats in the digital environment. Projects like this demonstrate how education and technology can work together to address real social challenges that are relevant far beyond national borders.
In 2026, the team plans to apply for a grant to scale the project from a prototype into a fully public service, marking a new phase in the development of domestic IT solutions focused on user protection.
