Digital Plastic Designer Created in Chelyabinsk
It makes it possible to select optimal material parameters for specific industry needs.

Researchers at South Ural State University have developed a computer system that makes it possible to select plastic formulations for specific conditions at industrial enterprises and anticipated operating conditions. It produces optimal combinations of components to ensure specified strength, elasticity, environmental friendliness, and resistance to extreme temperatures.
The technology is based on modeling the behavior of polyvinyl chloride and plasticizer molecules. In this way, it reproduces the process of material formation, from individual molecular fragments to the formation of the finished polymer structure.
The researchers believe the digital designer can be used for accelerated development of plastics for the oil and gas industry, construction, medicine, consumer goods production, transport infrastructure, and other fields that require materials with predetermined properties.
