AFK Sistema Plans Robotics Labs at Regional Russian Universities
AFK Sistema has proposed creating a network of robotics laboratories at universities across Russia’s regions, an initiative backed by the Ministry of Education and Science as the country pushes to address a growing shortage of robotics specialists.

Felix Yevtushenkov, the corporation’s first vice president, outlined the concept at the Yunovus-2026 forum. According to Yevtushenkov, the Ministry of Education and Science supported not only the initiative itself but also plans to scale it nationwide. The laboratories are expected to use both industrial and service robots. Additional details about the project are set to be presented in July at the Innoprom trade show in Yekaterinburg.
Robotics is among the priority sectors in Russia’s broader technological sovereignty strategy.
