MegaFon and En+ Telecom Partner to Expand Connectivity in Remote Areas of the Irkutsk Region

Telecom operator MegaFon and En+ Telecom have signed a memorandum of cooperation to combine their efforts in expanding communications infrastructure across remote areas of the Irkutsk Region.
The agreement also calls for joint deployment of digital services and business solutions. The companies plan to build private communications networks for industrial enterprises and test emerging technologies, including industrial Internet of Things applications. They also intend to share expertise and conduct pilot projects to help establish what they describe as a regional ecosystem of digital solutions.
"These initiatives will make Siberia more attractive for investment, create new jobs, and improve people's quality of life by expanding access to telemedicine, remote education, and smart city services," MegaFon said.
